Koji Yamami

Artist introduction

While studying abroad in the United States, he had a fateful encounter with a glass kaleidoscope, and was so moved by its beauty that he began to teach himself how to make them.

In order to overturn the perception that glass kaleidoscopes are toys that are deeply rooted in Japanese culture, and to let more people know about their beauty, he started a glass kaleidoscope making course in 1995. Since then, he has produced many artists and is still active as a leading expert in promoting glass kaleidoscopes.

In the media, he is also actively involved in activities such as appearing in TV drama title sequences and giving TV lectures, conveying the appeal of artistic kaleidoscopes to many people.

He is also actively involved in activities overseas, and has won numerous awards at the US Kaleidoscope World Championships.
