Youichi and Yumiko Sugimoto
Artist introduction
I first encountered kaleidoscopes on a southern island, where I tried making one using natural materials such as shells, coral, and beach glass.I never forgot the excitement I felt at that time, so I completed a course under the guidance of Mr. T, who was active in the Kansai region.
Hana Poppy's activities include local workshops, children's kaleidoscope classes, and sales.
As "Team Hana Poppy" (original design and woodwork by Yoichi Sugimoto), we received the Japan Kaleidoscope Grand Prize for our moving kaleidoscope.
I am currently a member of the Kansai Kaleidoscope Club (KKC) and Art kaleidoscope Japan (AKJ).
