A one-of-a-kind collaborative kaleidoscope created exclusively for our museum's special summer exhibition, "Summer Ensemble," held in 2023.
This rare collaborative kaleidoscope brings together the distinctive artistic visions of renowned kaleidoscope artist Jun Kojima and Chitoshi Takabayashi.
The elegant wooden body, the small lid covering the eyepiece, and the matching display stand were all handcrafted by Takabayashi. The refined woodworking lends the piece a quiet yet captivating presence.
The kaleidoscopic imagery was created by Kojima. Four dichroic glass panels, each with a different color, transform with the changing light, casting an ethereal glow around the central image. The shimmering, mystical patterns create an immersive experience, as though stepping into a magical world.
