Artist: Mizue Kato
An eye-catching stained-glass kaleidoscope featuring a black panther with a graceful, dignified presence.
This kaleidoscope was created especially for “KaleiZoo: A Zoo of Kaleidoscopes,” an exhibition held at our museum in 2018.
The carefully finished solder work reflects the artist’s attention to detail, developed over many years of working with stained glass.
The object chamber is filled with glass pieces, creating beautiful patterns with a clear, luminous quality each time you look inside.
A panther’s face also adorns the side of the chamber. Its sparkle and poised expression add to the piece’s distinctive charm.
With its stable, freestanding design, this parlor-style kaleidoscope is lovely to display in your home as well as to look through.
