Collaboration with Sato

Artist name: Tomoo Hosono × Motohiro Sato

Polarization is an interesting mechanism, but it doesn't always work as expected.
The colors change on their own, appearing and disappearing, and the children are asked to capture and play with the characteristics of these free-flowing colors in their own way.
I thought I was the conductor, but I guess a conductor is someone who looks through a kaleidoscope and turns it.
I guess I'm in a producer's position, planning the stage and discovering and carefully selecting performers.
They practice and carefully examine the harmonies they create, and sometimes even become instrument tuners.

That may be the nuance behind dealing with polarized light.
I use this mechanism of polarization to create kaleidoscope works.

I am not just making a physical object, but I have a strong sense that the inside is the work of art, so I want the tube to be as simple as possible.
It's a simple yet maniacal kaleidoscope.

This is a valuable collaborative work by Tomoo Hosono, a leading expert on polarized kaleidoscopes, and Motohiro Sato, a glass kaleidoscope artist.

The body is a simple and sophisticated design by Hosono.
The internal objects are made using Hosono's original polarized film and glass made by Sato's burner work.
The completely different materials blend together to create a unique image in the light.
